Let's visit the Ai Weiwei exhibition "The Art of Defiance" at the Patrick Derom Gallery at Sablon together. As I am a big fan of the artist I will be able to give you some explanations about his works if you are interested. The gallery writes the following about this show: "Patrick Derom Gallery presents Ai Weiwei’s first major retrospective in Belgium. Iconic works from the 1990s, such as the photographic series Study of Perspective, are shown alongside landmark pieces including Han Dynasty Urn with Coca-Cola Logo, in which the artist confronts cultural heritage with contemporary critique. The exhibition also features more recent works, notably his LEGO compositions such as Illumination, as well as his button-based practice represented by F.U.C.K.." As there are a lot of art galleries in the Sablon area we might go and visit a few others afterwards. After the event we will go for a drink to talk about our experiences and impressions. Obviously this second part is optional so please don't worry about it if you are not able to join us. Price: 15€
